In accordance with our Mission and Values, Ascension Borgess Hospital and Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital are committed to caring for all people regardless of their ability to pay, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Ascension Borgess Hospital and Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital offer financial counseling and assistance to help address any financial concerns patients or families may have regarding their care. Our financial aid policies reflect Ascension Borgess Hospital's and Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital's dedication to working together with our patients in a compassionate and caring manner to identify options for resolving their financial obligations

Policy & Principles
All financial assistance will reflect Ascension's commitment to and reverence for individual human dignity and the common good, their special concern for and solidarity with persons living in poverty and other vulnerable persons, and their commitment to distributive justice and stewardship.
This policy applies to all emergency and other medically necessary care provided by the Organization, including employed physician services and behavioral health. This policy does not apply to charges for care that is not emergency and other medically necessary care.
The List of Providers Covered by the Financial Assistance Policy provides a list of any providers delivering care within the Organization’s facilities that specifies which are covered by the financial assistance policy and which are not.
